Another Clean-Up

Removed my entries on Doctor Who-Series Ten Revisited as I will be remounting them soon with rips from the official DVD releases and not the TX versions.

Gone too is my umpteen drafts of The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith…now that the current version is listed on IFDB. The new draft will be made available to stream on Vimeo shortly.

Also missing is The Snowmen as I had an even better set of ideas for it as an edit. It’ll be back up before Christmas, I hope to have it released on FE.Org as a Christmas present, but we’ll see how they like it.

At the moment, I’m thinking of giving my Doctor Who edits a “uniform title” sequence, which would just be the old 2005-2009 titles with a shortened version of the theme borrowed from Whoflix.

Hey Arnold!-The Pines of Rome [Fanfiction]

(based on the final scenes of “The Jungle Movie”)

“So you and Gerald…things going smoother than a milkshake with you two?” Helga asked her best friend Phoebe as they made their way down the street in a bright crisp Monday morning.

“It’s only been forty-two hours Helga” Phoebe replied.

“Criminey, hours, days..months, it all rushes past us doesn’t it?” Helga responded.

“Only if you don’t take it slow” said Phoebe.

The two took a left and headed past their usual corner, where they met up with Arnold and Gerald.

No sooner than Gerald and Phoebe had made eye contact were they eager to clutch one another’s hands and stroll down the remainder of the path to School together.

Arnold and Helga watched them go. Inspired, Arnold reached out for Helga’s hand and clutched it tight.

Sensations overwhelemed Helga as her love for her pint-sized prince continued to be reciprocated. In a series of seconds, she began projecting a clear and ideal future for the two of them.

However, those few seconds also gave way to more immediate concerns about the present…about what this long desired affection would do for her public image, her standing in the school, and how it would impact her own identity.

As much as Arnold loved her, she was still a damaged person. It would take a lot of time for him to mend her in a way that did’nt compromise who she was on the outside or the inside. She wanted the quality in her life to be made better, but not at the expense of drastically altering who she was at the center.

For now, Helga still needed to be Helga.

Arnold would understand, he always did.

To this end, she would indulge in a well intentioned game of ”hard to get”. A game she knew Arnold would relish playing.

“Hey, who said you could touch me?!”

She took back her hand and walked past Arnold, making sure he noticed the dreamy expression on her face afterwards. Arnold’s reassuring and understanding smile as he followed her gave her all the reason to be proud of what she’d just done.

He did’nt want her to change either. Not yet.

Phoebe was right. The hours and months to come needed to be taken slowly. The foundations of Rome, one of the most romantic of all cities, weren’t built in a day.

Hey Arnold!-Walk on Water [Fanfiction]

(Set after “The Jungle Movie”)

She can do it all thought Arnold Shortman as he walked alongside Helga G. Pataki on their way to school.

“Keep up the pace Football Head” Helga snapped as she deliberately began putting distance between her and him in an attempt to motivate him.

Arnold smiled and briskly powered forward, actually managing to get ahead of her.

She can do it all, and she pushes me to do even better he thought.

“Hey, nobody cuts in front of me, stick by my side Arnaldo, ladies first, that’s how it goes for gentleman right?” said Helga.

Arnold gave her a courteous bow and allowed her to move in front of him again.

“That’s more like it” said Helga.

She soon noticed Arnold wasn’t moving.

“What’s the matter? You don’t need no education or something?”

“Just wanted to admire you from afar” said Arnold. “I think it’s way past due my turn”

Helga felt a flutter course through her heart, she quivered and the same dreamy expression she’d had on her face since returning from San Lorenzo once again danced across her face. She made sure Arnold didn’t see it, quickly turning her head.

Arnold beamed and prepared to once again push himself in front of her so he could do the gentlemanly thing all over again.

Helga stopped suddenly and looked Arnold in the eye as he caught up, Arnold sensed frustration from her.

“You’re troubled. Talk to me” he said, trying to place his hand in hers. She recoiled.

“I don’t know Arnaldo, I feel like I should be saying a trillion things to you, words you want to hear, and I’m always stuck on repeating the same old mean-spirited lines”

“Don’t worry about it Helga, we have all the time in the world to say things to each other, besides, though I know you can do it all, I don’t think even you can fit a trillion words into the span of a ten minute hike to school.”

Helga chuckled, but continued to look a little gloom.

“I also feel like you have some big expectations of me, and all I’m doing is short-changing you on them by being as mean as I am. I can’t shake years of damage and attitude overnight Arnold, I don’t know how you could possibly have the paitence for that”

Arnold reached over to her face and pressed his lips gently on hers.

“Let me tell you about a dream I had. When the others played that matcmaking game and we were paired up. Every waking hour I spent antagonizing over it”

“Oh yeah Arnaldo, this is really uplifiting” snarked Helga.

“No, listen to me” Arnold insisted, “My dream played up my fears of what a life with you would be like. Loads of kids, overbearing family problems on your end…”

“Not helping you sap. Carry on with this and that hand you have holding mine will be broken in places most hands don’t even have places” Helga insisted, and squeezed Arnold’s hand tightly just to make her point clear.

“It should have been a nightmare, I treated it as such, I even lashed out in it, but then we were alone together, and the spotlight was all on you, you were more vulnerable here than I’d ever known you, and you were able to tell me something that made all the worry, all the stress, mean very little. I may have been walking on eggshells throughout that dream and in the waking world all in between, but what you said? It made me feel like I could walk on water”

“What did I say?” Helga asked.

Arnold reached over to her face and pressed his lips gently on hers.

As he let go, Helga transformed, her face awash with bright radiant blushes and she allowed her smile to reform on her face.

“My expectations are normal, what you’re doing is perfectly normal. Your attitude, your nature, is something that can only improve with time, and as far as patience goes, I have forever with you to wait”

Helga combed through Arnold’s hair with her fingers delicately.

“Around me Arnold, I’d be a bit more careful when walking on water. I can do that too, all of us can. When winter comes and everything freezes. I’m a killer on the ice, cut in front of me there and you’ll end up taking the plunge”

“Have I told you I get a kick out of your threats?” Arnold replied.

Helga kissed him on the cheek

“Nice to know I’m doing the kicking”

The two clutched hands and marched forward together.

The Moonlight Bides It’s Time

When you call out at the midnight hour
The moonlight bides it’s time
Wait until the day in motion
Has no place as yours or mine
This moment belongs to one and all
Never shed it on this date
The creatures of the sky and Earth
Bask in this fine gift from fate
And you forever see reflections
Of the world within your eyes
Giving in to your temptations
Pure tension in disguise
You reach out for my tender kiss
And you hope it hits the spot
But in her mind, love is precious
And forever’s what it will cost

Doctor Who-Gallifrey Falls [Fanedit]

In it’s infancy, this edit was known as “The Moment Has Come” and was released on this blog back in 2015, but the purging of my previous MEGA account lost the product to the tearful rains of time, so I’ve now decided to revisit it with a snappier title and a few improvements to the editing.

The episode now begins with the very unveiling of the “Gallifrey Falls” painting, and the titles follow Matt saying “the day he killed them all”, we have a shortened version of the RTD era Doctor Who theme, and then back to the museum for most of the story.

I decided to hold back from the War Doctor’s introduction scene until the time came for him to meet The Moment and fetch the Fez, luckily, there’s a perfect moment to bridge from the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors meeting to that scene as soon as Ten says “so where did it go?” when inquiring about the Fez. Very lucky to have had that scene there.

The destruction of Gallifrey originally came about in my first edit as soon as Clara found the War Doctor had vanished from the chair. Here we get to see the War Doctor actually trigger the big red button that leads to the obliteration of the planet.

Most of the story is the same, I opted to also omit any scene with the painting of Elizabeth and Ten getting smashed in by the Zygons for reasons that become quite clear at the end. I was never really satisfied with how Whoflix  ended his Tennant cut, and thought it needed a better closing shot than just his TARDIS materializing. So I spared the painting of Elizabeth and The Doctor from destruction so we can have a quick pan over to it one more time.
