Whoflix has been busy this week, he put together an edit of Doctor Who episodes The Eleventh Hour (which used the same damn ending I came with for it), and The Impossible Astronaut .
It was fun to see what both of us did with the topsy-turvey, timey-whimey narrative structure of the latter, as I’d just started trying out ideas for The Wedding of River Song, the intent of my edit was to use some footage from The Impossible Astronaut for the scenes at Lake Silencio, and in his edit, he used footage from The Wedding of River Song for those scenes!
It’s nice to see him tackling the more complicated Moffat stories, and he does a pretty good job removing the nonsensical elements from TIA, go over to his website and check the new edits out for yourself.
In the meantime, here’s what I came up with for my Wedding of River Song edit
Sample One: New Pre-Titles sequence made from one of the available prequel mini-sodes. Makes for a much more intriguing introduction to the story and it’s stakes than the stupid “time runs amok” sequence which involved Charles Dickens on the BBC Breakfast Sofa
Sample Two: Just because I could, I pushed up the revelation Eleven is in the Tesselecta to what he whispers to River before they get married
