Power Rangers In Space-Taking Flight [Fanedit]

Power Rangers In Space

Here is a fanedit I’ve made of the beginnings of Power Rangers In Space. This edit was originally intended to be the entire In Space story condensed, but as I worked my way through the episodes I realised it was too much of a herculean undertaking that was leaving far too much cut out and a narrative that wasn’t very coherent and not being given time to breath. I’m sure somebody more talented than me can stitch together a more consistent edit in the future.

So to satisfy my determination to see an edit of this through, I looked back to the official Fox Kids omnibus edits of my childhood, and realised that, at least to my knowledge, Power Rangers In Space never had one focused on it’s points of origin, so there lay the challenge. This edit consists of a heavily edited “Chase Into Space” parts one and two, as well as most of In Space’s premiere “From Out of Nowhere” as well as the episode “The Delta Discovery”, this was largely thrown in there to ‘book-end’ the feature with an appearance from Divatox.

Doctor Who: State of Play [fanfiction]

DOCTOR WHO:

State of Play

The Doctor couldn’t resist any longer.

Resistance was useless in a situation such as this.

All those eras she had lived through, ruthless pirate captains, horned nimons , manipulative space/time traps, all of it paled to the persistent conundrum of the very irritable human presence in front of her as she sat rather impatiently within the waiting rooms of the local medical clinic.

A young human girl, approximately five years of age, playing with a large red beach ball, repeatedly bouncing it across the edge of the wall and back to her. Five seconds worth of peace and quiet between each shot.

The Doctor could read a room like it was the history of everything you could ever find, she could gauge reaction and emotion just from seeing the faces of all those around her. Some burying their heads in an old magazine, forcing themselves to focus on the text, staring blankly at the celebrity snaps. Some twitching, some coughing loudly as if hoping it would put the young girl off the activity or allow her parents to ‘get the message’ and directly intervene.

But perhaps the most tragic and telling of the reactions was a teenage lad forming a small pistol with his right hand and taking ‘aim’ at the girl and mimicking gunfire noises. Unfiltered, as loud as he could.

The Doctor realised this was taking it too far. Why couldn’t any of them just talk to the girl?

This menace had form, but not yet, to her knowledge, a name.

She would ask her of it.

“Hi, young lady, don’t mind me asking, what’s your name?” she said.

“Annabelle” the girl replied.

“You seem a little distracted, well, a lot, where are you parents?”

Annabelle pointed over to a corner of the room where her mother was occupied with chatter on the phone.

“Oh, got noone to play with but the wall then?” said The Doctor.

Annabelle persisted with knocking the ball against said wall, the Doctor could tell she was indulging more aggressive in the activity.

“Those people around us, they’re getting to you aren’t they?” she said.

“They’re scared. Scared of what I can do”

“Really? And what exactly can you do?” The Doctor asked quizzically.

“I can anger them” Annabelle said.

“Oh that’s smashing, because between you and me, humans are very easy to anger, it takes the tiniest bit of pressure, but they thrive on it. This kind of anger you’re producing? It feeds on their morality, their very right to be angry, because they don’t know how to best express it to an innocent”

“So I do have power? Over them?” Annabelle said, excited to think she had such an influence.

“Nonsense, you’re an innocent, and power isn’t innocent, power puts fear into others. None of those surrounding us would dare use their power to hurt a child directly, with what they’re capable of with their own two hands, or their words, no, they’ll let the fear do all of that for them. A gesture, a glance, a telling smile, they’ll communicate that way. You’re picking up on that fear aren’t you? That’s why your state of play is more aggressive, you’re trying to make them fear what they could do if it continues. Do they have the right to lash out? What kind of monster would they become in the eyes of others as well as themselves as they did? It’s best not to wield any such power around them; they’re terrified enough as it is”

“Are they scared?” Annabelle asked.

“They’re already scared, they’re all here because something’s wrong with them, you’re here because something’s wrong with you, and you’re scared”

“Are you scared?”

“I’m scared for someone I care about, he’s been feeling a bit unwell, we’ve been up here twice already, once to take the test, and this is to find out the results”

“I hope he gets better”

“Me too” The Doctor replied

An older man with kind but exhausted eyes strolled into the waiting room, his hands in his pockets, glancing up at the bright lights before glancing in the Doctor’s direction; she immediately got up and dashed over to him.

“How’d it go?” The Doctor asked.

“Negative, the results, they came back negative” Graham O’Brien said, sighing with relief.

“You’re shaking” an observant Doctor nodded, holding his hand steady, checking his temperature with her eagerly warm free hand.

“The fear is still there” Graham replied, his eyes watering

“You’re also inflating” The Doctor replied.

Graham chuckled; he knew the Doctor was referring to his tears

“Oh, these waterworks? Don’t worry Doc, its just relief”

“Bit strange to cry when it’s nothing but good news” The Doctor replied.

“Yeah, well, you were a bit strange when I brought up my cancer anxiety to you”

“Are you ever going to let that go?” The Doctor said.

“So long as you never let go of me” he said, and planted a small tender kiss on her lips that held for what seemed like a blissful eternity

The Doctor, still locked in the kiss, gave Annabelle thumbs up. Annabelle nodded in approval.

This right there was a power she wanted to share with someone one day.

Annabelle’s mother finally got off the phone, her daughter sat besides her watching the Doctor depart with Graham, arm in arm.

“Who were you talking to dear?”

Annabelle smiled.

Who indeed.

Austin Powers: The Very Shagadelic Sequel [Fanedit]

Austin Poster

I’ve worked out how to combine Austin Powers 2 and 3 into one big shaggedlic sequel baby, yeah!
here’s how I sorted it out
-Start the movie with the Tom Cruise intro, cut Danny Devito after Kevin Space appears as Dr. Evil
-After Speilberg shows Austin his Oscar, we cut to Dr. Evil’s pod leaving the Big Boy
-Cut opening credits after Vanessa dies, and instead switch to Austin’s knighthood from Goldmember
-After Austin and Basil’s meeting with the sailors, cut back to Evil’s Starbucks lair from The Spy Who Shagged Me -Rearrange a couple of scenes
-From there, most of The Spy Who Shagged Me plays out until Felicity’s death by gassing
-When Austin shoots Evil, he captures him, and from there Spy Who Shagged Me footage ends and we cut to Goldmember footage with Austin visiting Evil’s cell in Geneva. No need to revive Felicity.
-Rest of Goldmember plays out, ‘titty’ satellite gag removed, films resumes  up until Foxy arrests everyone at the sub. Revelation Evil is Austin’s brother cut

M.A.S.K: Assault On Liberty [Fanedit]

Retro_T_shirt_grande_

Some of you with sharp memories (assuming you’ve followed this blog since the begining) will know I already made an edit of this sometime ago, however that version was about eleven minutes. This is a full-length edit.

If I had to split M.A.S.K up into ‘seasons’ then episode 14 ‘Assault on Liberty’ would be my choice for season one finale. It has everything, mostly action, but kind of a sense of finality as VENOM vehicle are all trashed and the team prevent a quasi-9/11 terrorist plot from being carried out. They even come very close to killing off Miles Mayhem.

Even as a kid, I found the whole thing with Miles surviving the final act a little hard to swallow, so here we don’t cut to him surfacing and vowing revenge.

I did have to lose the destruction of Jackhammer and Piranha, the only portion of this edit I regret taking out is the latter as there’s really nothing wrong with it, but the cheesy idea of Thunderhawk wiping out all of Jackhammer with two pulse blasts just betrays all sense.

Doctor Who-The 15th Anniversary Rose Rewatch…And Re-edit! [Fanedit]

Rosespecialedition

Uncertain times, but you can still count on a Doctor to sort you out, and we’re all eager to help spread his or her cheer

Some of those involved with The Doctor’s many adventures, from Steven Moffat, to Chris Chibnall, to Jodie Whitaker, have all done their part to raise spirits and reassure the citizens of planet Earth that darkness never prevails (but you can rely on the miserable ‘not my doctor’ lot to spin Jodie and Chibs’ contributions to suit their vindictive agendas…the souless cretins) . and now it’s the turn of the man who restarted it all, Russel T. Davies, who. in addition to publishing a lost short story written back in 2013, will be live-tweeting today as we are all encouraged to gather ’round our computers and televisions to enjoy the first episode of a renewed tv institution…’Rose’, as Nu Who celebrates it’s 15th year of existence today.

The last decade plus has seen the show go through some shakedowns…RTD’s era had it’s triumphs and letdowns, Moffat had it’s letdowns and triumphs, Chibs has seen letdowns…and further letdowns, though a few bright sparks have come of it (Dawan’s Master is a highlight, and Thraham, whether Chibs is in favour of it or not, seems to be catching on a bit thanks in no small part to my modest efforts), but for a revival to have lasted this long, and in many cases outlast other revivals, is nothing short of remarkable and attests to the staying power of DW’s potential as an outlet for strong and creative ideas.

And it’s such creativity that is presently fuelling the show’s attempts to stay relevant after the Timeless Children revelations proved it’s most supreme test of cultural stability. Fans are as divided as any other human being is over our first and third world problems, not sure whether they should stay loyal, fight for a better product, or not challenge anything and just consume. In a phase of human history where Mother Nature or God has just about had their fill of our behaviour and is testing us like never before, it’s sad to see the show struggle to unite the fans even with the best of intentions.

Still, you’re not here to read about what I think of the fans, or the world, you’re here to watch ‘Rose’ like the rest of us…and so I offer you, as a fan who understands the frustrations of many, a choice

p087rhfs

You can either watch ROSE: EIGHT TO NINE, a previous edit I made some years back which sees Paul McGann regenerate into Christopher Eccleston, and enjoy an ending where Nine leaves Rose well behind and heads towards new, forever unseen alternative adventures…

…Or you can sit back, let the world’s problems slip by you, embrace your Nu-Who nostalgia entirely, and let an enhanced special edition re-edit of Rose take you on the trip of a lifetime.

This edit makes use of shots and sequences from the 2005 TV Spot “The Trip of A Lifetime”, the only real changes come just before the shopping mall is destroyed (I inserted shots of The Doctor running away from the ball of flame) and the rest of it makes up the brand new ending.

You can stay at home, you can make chips, or you can come with him, relive your glory days as a fan knowing those days may never come again, or become a fan again

Your choice.

Keep safe
