TMNT 93: Super Irma’s Counter-Attack [Fanedit]

AND WE’RE HERE AT LAST!

Today is the premiere of the first fully ‘animated’ episode of TMNT ’93, a retro A.I-assisted ‘new’ episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, repurposing old footage with brand new voice over lines generated by Elevenlabs.

Set in a world where seasons eight through ten of the original series didn’t occur, this new season sees Shredder and Krang cut off from the Technodrome and forced to do the bidding of it’s new owner Shreeka. Only winning her favour can they ever stand any hope of accessing their battle machine again. Shreeka is fascinated by the Turtle’s calamitous companion Irma, what lengths will Shredder go to to recruit her?

The ‘story’ is pretty convoluted, being that it was 90% improv with a vague idea of where to take everything, but the show’s very nature enabled me to point that out several times.

Also, for an episode set in the early 90s, there’s quite the immersion break when Shredder mentions podcasting…I didn’t catch that ’till after final rendering and I was too lazy to change it.

A second episode is presently in the works, I hope to get it done by late April or early May, but it might take longer. We’ll just have to see.

Civil War: Vengeance Has Consumed You [Fanedit] [Reupload]

While Peter Parker sets out to prove himself, Steve Rogers is faced with a drastic choice that will shake the Avengers to their foundations and put him at odds with his close friend Tony Stark, things are complicated further by a bombing in Vienna that allegedly ties back to his best friend, “Bucky” Barnes, the former mercenary known as the winter soldier.

Intention:

With a tighter focus on the narrative and the use of footage from Spider-Man: Homecoming, this edit attempts to provide Civil War with more of a mystery behind Zemo’s scheme as well as an alternate introduction to Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man

Cuts and Additions:

– Film now opens with Tony talking about the holographic technology
– No romance/flirting between Sharon and Steve
– T’Challa’s introduction as a vengeful Black Panther is not foreshadowed. Scene with Natasha after the Vienna bombing cut.
– Alternative introduction to Peter Parker using Spider-Man: Homecoming footage
– No split between Tony and Pepper (there’s a very good reason for that)
– More mystery to Zemo and his motivations, we only truly learn the extent of his scheming when the characters do
– New mid-credits scene using Homecoming footage.

Beginning a new project for the blog. A 20 page webcomic which explores my take on what a Simpsons series finale would look like.
